He thinks that open-source is really GroupForming software. Good languages and architectures are extensible, encourage add-ons, and the add-ons create a NetworkEffect with LockIn. Calls it "The Architecture Of Participation".

Ughh ... I suppose this is becoming a big point in favour of JavaLanguage. (See ProgrammingLanguagePlatformWar)
