Context : BlockChain

The Graph is an indexing protocol for querying networks like Ethereum and IPFS. Anyone can build and publish open APIs, called subgraphs, making data easily accessible.

Basically, they made a protocol which lets anyone set up a kind of search engine or indexer, to index a bit of Ethereum (and maybe other BlockChains?). Then when I need to search the chain, for transactions by particular users or contracts with particular attributes, and I can negotiate (using GRT coin) with the indexers to help me find something.

It's a kind of decentralized search engine. (With decentralization mediated by a market)

The Graph have made a GraphQL API to this market, so I can write my queries very simply.

Wow! As an aside, it's amazing how complex these ecosystems around very embryonic ventures are predicted to be.

All the different actors! (Kind of reminds me of the NetoCracy categories of Nexialists etc.)
