SuicideGirls

Wow! The evolution of the CamGirl. I'm kind of dumbstruck with a mixture of horror and admiration.

It's kind of SocialSoftware as soft-porn BroadCatching. Gets it's money by charging membership and selling merchandising.

(Maybe this should be called BrandCatching? Combining BroadCatching with intense selling stuff back to the community?)

Of course, "young women empowered by their sexuality" is the oldest con-trick in the book. How different is this, really?

Also host to a small furore centred on the use of Nintendo IP on the site (i.e. a user listing Metroid and Zelda as their favourite games):

Although [according http://www.boingboing.net/2004/10/27/nintendolawyergram.html according to BoingBoing], the lawyers that sent the letter don't know they sent it, and can't access the site due to their firewall :) A case of corporate denial, or company identity theft? Man, life would be so much easier if we had PKI...
