Like Alexander's "Cascade of Roofs" this is a mysterious pattern.

On the one hand. I need to be able to see and monitor a small group of people I feel engaged with. So this pattern partly acts as a mechanism for PlsDenseClusters or Mayfield's creative networks.

But the relationships in the blogroll may not be reciprocated. The blogroll is then a personal resource to monitor people who interest me, but are not necessarily interested in me.

In addition, the blogroll is also an advert. Who I read and visit says a lot about my interests, tastes and who I am.
