• Pure, such as those advocated as Feminist (WhatIsFeminism) alternative economics. (eg. GenevieveVaughan). Which believe that an exchange mentality is wrong and needs to be changed.

• Pragmatic : Some apparent gift cultures are really based on trading gifts for status or general acclaim.
