FractalWiki

ThoughtStorms Wiki

This was a wiki, where any page could be a sub-wiki.

Long gone, of course, but link was : http://www.wikiservice.at/fractal/wikidev.cgi

Is it really fractal?

Or just hierarchically organized?

(er ... in many cases ... what's the difference?)

Why is this more interesting than a file-system with subdirectories?

Maybe it has something. Questions I'm curious about :

  • do people talk about different kinds of things at different scales / levels?
  • how do people link between different levels? Do hyperlinks essentially "flatten the organization" so that the scale at which something started is essentially an arbitrary and not very important historical quirk? Or do people try to preserve the sense of hierarchy?
