Critical term for western companies which analyse the chemical and genetic property of another country's ecosystem, patent their discoveries and sell patented products based on them back to the country.

I don't like this form of criticism much because it plays into the hands of those who think that ideas and information can be "property". The criticism is just that the property rights of the country have been "stolen" Personally I think everyone should have the right to analyse and learn from the ecosystem of other countries or cultures without constraint.

The problem is Patents and the idea of IntellectualProperty, not it's misappropriation.
