A Twitter rant after I received an email from LinkedIn :

No I'm not, you idiotic web-platform.

At some point how much does such happyspeak bring a platform into disrepute? They have no information about my career at all, let alone it 'rolling'.

Surely it doesn't make sense for a site whose job is to manage my career to just invent random shit about it.

LinkedIn should be screaming ''WTF Dude! Are you even employed? Destitute? Starving? Can we do anything?''

That's what a real platform-based service would do.

USE its information to provide actual help.

The mentality of Silicon Valley platform capitalism is a million miles away from this.

It's not just LinkedIn though. Spotify (7 active listeners last week) used to send me the message ''[last month] was full of high notes''.

But was it, though? Really?

Something (apart from all the other things we talk about) has gone wrong with the SV platform capitalist model.

It's so obsessed with accentuating positives to the point of banality, that it is incapable of doing anything useful at all.

OnSadEmojis is also relevant here.
