If you plant a bomb in the shopping centre, it's no excuse to say that you didn't intend harm to anyone in particular, because you had no specific target in mind.

Equally, if you decide to support an economic system which you know has a structural (or inherent) tendency to push the losers into poverty, it's no excuse to say that you didn't intend anyone specifically to be poor and exploited. Or that, if only those people had been harder-working or smarter, they'd have managed to push other people down in their place, and thus it's no responsibility of yours that someone is down there.
