What we really need is for journal publishers to provide professional support to academics with things like data-science, statistics etc.

There should be no cases of, say, social science papers with bad statistics, because journal publishers should have in-house checkers for that

Ideally, they could provide consultation to researchers BEFORE papers are even submitted. An author could just go to the publisher with an outline for research and say, "what stats do I need to collect, and what analysis do I need to do, for this to be up to your standards?"

Two organizations that aim to provide support / "fact checking" (or at least sanity checks) on health / social sciences research
