A news site is a point within the network to which the visitor makes a regular, habitual visit. Information flows to the user (TheFlowInternet) so the user has a rest from constant movement. A news site could be a PlsConnectionToTheMedia (eg. the BBC, Andrew Sullivan, a record company), a more pure WebLog of PlsOnlineThoughts, one of the PlsForums, or a personalized agregation of RSS feeds or even a mail box. The important thing is that it provides a point of regular return for the user. Thus definitely a place on the network.
