A hypothesis inspired by MumsNetRadicalization :

You can turn ANY interest group into a hate-group if you can find just the right other / scapegoat group that's sort of the inverse (palimpsest) of it. Which can be spun as encroaching on its territory or threatening it.

What would be the anti-group that could turn YOU into someone who actively (or passively) supported violence and oppression to keep it away / punish it?
