How did this work? I'm guessing :
- the story gave the objects special value to the people making the swap. It was a chance for them to be part of a crazy, unusual story (so mark one-up to SethGodin : etc. http://www.allmarketersareliars.com/ etc. And maybe JohnSeelyBrown on StoryTelling)
- then as Kyle's fame grew, making the swap was also a way to win attention (so check TheAttentionEconomy)
What I wonder. Could anyone produce a "spin-off" from this. There are all these people who have an object from this story which has a certain notoriety. Could they start trying to trade-up from their object?
