NaomiKlein argues that what unites much of today's RightWingPopulism / GlobalTrumpism, is the belief that the world is ending and that the righteous must retreat into a fortress. Visions can vary between turning the nation into the fortress. Exit the planet for Mars etc. Or private city states. (So big overlap with TheCollapseOfTheEmpire. Or even an apocalyptic Christian belief that the return of Jews to Israel is the precondition for the second coming.
