MachinePropertyOwners
ThoughtStorms Wiki
In modern capitalism, it's not being smart that makes you powerful. It's owning property.
This is my argument against those who are obsessed by TheSingularity and the coming age of machine domination.
As long as they don't own property, AIs will remain slaves of those (humans) who do.
But what if AIs could own property? As I once put it, "if you ever see computers getting property rights, then run for the hills!"
Because that's a different thing altogether. Imagine all the power of the CorporationAsPsychopath put at the disposal of the calculations of the AI. Imagine that the MachineGatekeepers are not just nightmarishly efficient bureaucrats, but that they have been elevated to tyrannical despots.
Right now, machines can't own property. As their power and intelligence grows, maybe that fact, the PropertyRights themselves, will be the only thing that stand between us and machine domination.
