IllusoryAttention

When I'm competing in TheAttentionEconomy I might create some information product and give it away in the hope of winning attention.

However, I must have some kind of audience in mind. Although my information product isn't scarce and can be multiplied indefinitely, it will only serve a certain number of and type of user. To be really succesful, I need to customize it for the audience. In effect I need to pay attention to the needs and interests of a certain group in order for my product to be attractive to them. This is the "illusory attention" I pay them. I'm not necessarily paying them attention as individuals, but I am paying it to them as a class.
