• Compliance controlled by threats? Well, loss of salary and loss of job aren't torture and murder, but they are still, in this lower-stakes version of a dictatorship, a negative outcome that people fear.
• Wholesale exterminations? Once again, not comparable in severity, but the corporation is willing to engage in mass restructuring and lay-offs when it suits the planning of those at the top.
