• selection of who joins the course (based on entrance tests)
• coursework challenges and evaluation
• shared space (a large room with computer resources)

What it doesn't provide :

• selection based on previous qualifications
• live tuition
• written or recorded tuition material

I guess they rely on external providers of these.
