I don't personally think ArtificialIntelligence is "conscious".[1]

But nor do I think consciousness is amenable to science. Not because of spooky stuff, but because I think science has been defined in such a way that it can't talk about consciousness.

This is a good recent (August 2023) take on the opposite position. That AI can be conscious and we have scientific reasons to think so.
