Someone came and redesigned the front-page table. It wasn't me. But it presumably seemed a good idea.
My initial thoughts ...
- Pro : if you have a narrow window, the old design made the page too wide. Forced a horizontal scroll. This shouldn't happen now.
- Con : if you have a short window, some important categories scroll off the bottom. I liked the old design, and thought is worked.
But in fact, multi-column documents are something I always rail against when wearing my UsabilityTsar hat ;-) But it seemed acceptable for me in this wiki as a fast route to many sections and ideas.
Q : Will you change it back?
A : Not yet. I'm willing to try it out for a while and see how I feel.
